Many people ask this question, is chicken good for health? the answer is not straight forward, chicken by itself is a good thing but lot depends on how you cook, if you use lot of oil then it is definitely not good for health, but same chicken if you make salads it is good. So any chicken recipe to be called as best chicken recipe it is very important to see how it is cooked. In other words boiled, roasted, or grilled chicken is the best meat you can have, but for a recipe to qualify as good chicken recipe it should be fried. And if you are worried about taste, roasted chicken or grilled chicken tastes better than the fried form. I spent lot of time finding out best chicken recipes on the web, so what are we waiting for, lets jump to the list of best chicken recipes then.

What makes a best dinner recipe? There is no one answer for this question, everyone have their own opinion about food in dinner. Some people say we should take very light food in dinner because we don’t do much physical activities after dinner and some other people say they eat a lot in dinner and reason they give is they don’t get proper sleep if they don’t eat well in dinner. Moreover, some people think dinner is only meal for which they get time to cook and as well as time to eat, so they prefer to make it best. So, one recipe cannot be called as best recipe for dinner for everyone. Therefore, I have handpicked some recipes for every kind of dinner need.

Poori with aaloo palya is one of my favorite breakfast item. In South Indian restaurants it is one of the very common thing served as breakfast. Generally many people use to have this when they happen to go to restaurants for breakfast because it is generally considered as difficult dish to prepare at home. But now with this easy steps recipe you can make this very delicious food item for breakfast at home itself. Just in case if you do not know, aaloo in hindi/urdu means potato and palya (argued to be kannada word) means a mash of potato to which special tempering treatment is given.

If you do not want to have poori with palya, if you are a non-vegetarian you can alternatively  you can have it with paaya (I will write paaya recipe some time soon) or if you are a vegetarian you can try with chana masala (I will try to write chana masala recipe in my future posts) as well.

Ingredients for Poori recipe:

Maida: 1/4 kg Wheat flour (Aata): 1/4 kg Oil: 1/4 kg Ghee: 1 tsp Salt to taste

Ingredients for Aaloo Palya recipe:

Potato: 1/2 kg Onion: 3 large sized finely sliced More >

My previous vegetable curry recipe was slightly on the heavier side. This recipe is more suitable for daily kind of cooking. This dish is very easy to learn and cook. Takes some 40 minutes to get ready (out of which 30 you almost won’t have to do anything ). Vegetarians will surely appreciate this recipe. This curry will go well with Lemon rice (Click here for some great lemon rice recipes). Kindly leave comment so that I can tune my writing with my audience. Thanks!

Ingredients of vegetable curry:

  • Cooking oil: 3 tsp
  • Garlic cloves: 4 to 5 (tip: garlic is very good for health, so if you do not hate its smell you can add 2 more)

  • Coriander powder: 1 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder: 1 1/2 tsp

About Vegetable curry (vegetable kurma):

Vegetable curry is very common Indian food, in a vegetarian family this dish is generally cooked at least once a week. Vegetable kurma is a very healthy food and good on proteins and very low on calories. Even in this recipe health has been kept high on priority. The more the vegetables you add the more tasty it will become. Paneer is again a optional thingy for some reason if you do not like paneer you can leave that out. This curry goes well with parantas, naans, roti or even plain white rice (but you may require rasam). This recipe should serve 4. Please provide feedback so that we can collectively improve recipes.

Lemon rice:

Lemon rice is one of the many popular south Indian masala rice dishes. Key thing about cooking lemon rice is that each rice should be separate from another and one should get to feel the tangyness. Of course you cannot cook it everyday but nice option for weekend. If yours is a big family you will like it more. Lemon rice is best with chilly mutton or chilly chicken. Vegetarians can have it with kara chatni or masala aloo (potato, click here for recipes using potatoes) fry (I will write this recipe soon). And if you are eggetarian this lemon rice will go well with boiled eggs (tip: do not boil it completely).

Background of this special chicken curry:

This chicken curry called chicken kurma is extremely popular in India in general and south India in particular. This delicious chicken dish goes well with ghee rice (better still bagara khana, in future I will write this special rice recipe) or even plain steam rice. You will love this curry if you are predominantly a non-veg fan. If you want to have it in breakfast or dinner, you can also try this recipe with dosa (if you do not know what dosa is, I will write about dosa in future and also I will try to write about its various variants and how to cook them). This particular recipe will serve 4 if you are having with dosa or ghee rice one more person can be served.
